Mechanism of action

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks COX-1 and COX-2, reducing production of inflammatory mediators including prostaglandins and thromboxanes. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that binds glucocorticoid receptors in the cytoplasm, translocates to the nucleus, and modulates gene expression to suppress inflammatory cytokines, immune cell activation, and tissue inflammation. Together, they provide dual anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
