Mechanism of action
Honey contains glucose oxidase, which produces hydrogen peroxide for antimicrobial activity, and possesses natural polyphenols with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These components help reduce oral bacteria, promote wound healing, and reduce inflammation in oral tissues. The mouthwash formulation allows topical delivery of these bioactive compounds to the oral mucosa and teeth.
