Mechanism of action

Focetria is a split-virion, inactivated influenza vaccine containing antigens from three influenza virus strains (trivalent formulation). It works by presenting viral antigens to the immune system, triggering both humoral (antibody) and cellular immune responses that provide protection against infection with the included influenza strains. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly and is designed to prevent seasonal influenza infection.
