Mechanism of action
Ferrous sulphate is an iron supplement that delivers ferrous (Fe2+) iron, which is readily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The absorbed iron is incorporated into hemoglobin and myoglobin, restoring oxygen-carrying capacity of blood and correcting the metabolic consequences of iron deficiency.
