Mechanism of action
Dendritic cells are harvested from the patient, loaded with tumor antigens or engineered to express tumor-associated peptides, and then reinfused to prime T-cell responses against cancer. This approach leverages the dendritic cells' natural role as antigen-presenting cells to generate cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses that target malignant cells. The vaccine aims to convert a patient's own immune system into a therapeutic agent against their cancer.
