Mechanism of action

Corticosteroids like COT exert their effects by binding to glucocorticoid receptors, which then translocate to the nucleus and alter gene expression to reduce inflammation. This results in decreased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and increased production of anti-inflammatory cytokines.
