Mechanism of action

Vicryl Plus is a braided, absorbable suture made from a copolymer of polyglactin 910, coated with an antimicrobial agent (iodine complex) to reduce surgical site infections. The suture is gradually absorbed by the body over 56-70 days while maintaining tensile strength during the critical wound healing phase. The antimicrobial coating helps prevent bacterial colonization at the surgical site.
