Mechanism of action
It works by binding to the bacterial cell membrane, ultimately leading to cell death. Chlorhexidine has broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi and viruses. This results in a reduction of microbial load and prevention of infection.
