Maxipime (Cefepime Hydrochloride)
Maxipime (generic name: Cefepime Hydrochloride) is a Cephalosporin Small molecule drug developed by Baxter. It is currently FDA-approved (first approved 1996) for Bacterial infection due to Klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacterial peritonitis, Bacterial pneumonia.
Cefepime is a cephalosporin antibacterial drug that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Maxipime, also known as Cefepime, is a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with an extended spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It has been studied in clinical trials for various conditions, including Gram-negative bacteremia, febrile neutropenia, and serious Gram-negative infections, among others.

Mechanism of action
Cefepime is a cephalosporin antibacterial drug belonging to the beta-lactam class of antibiotics. Cephalosporins work by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins and disrupting peptidoglycan cross-linking. This mechanism results in bacterial cell wall instability and cell death.
