Mechanism of action
It works by inhibiting the absorption of cholesterol in the small intestine, thereby reducing the amount of cholesterol available to enter the bloodstream. This leads to a decrease in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, often referred to as 'bad' cholesterol.
