Mechanism of action
Calcium serves as a structural component of bone and is essential for bone formation and maintenance. Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) enhances intestinal calcium absorption and regulates serum calcium homeostasis by promoting calcium reabsorption in the kidneys and mobilization from bone when needed. Together, they prevent bone loss and support bone density.
