Mechanism of action
Bisacodyl is a diphenylmethane derivative that stimulates colonic peristalsis and increases water secretion in the intestine. PEG-CS (polyethylene glycol with electrolytes) provides osmotic laxation to retain water in the bowel lumen. Together, they produce rapid, thorough bowel evacuation for colonoscopy preparation.
