Biological: oral polio vaccine
Biological: oral polio vaccine is a Live attenuated viral vaccine Biologic drug developed by Biomed Industries, Inc.. It is currently in Phase 3 development for Poliomyelitis prevention in infants and children. Also known as: Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).
Oral polio vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3 by delivering live attenuated (weakened) virus that replicates in the gastrointestinal tract.

Mechanism of action
The vaccine contains three serotypes of live attenuated poliovirus that replicate in the intestinal mucosa, triggering both mucosal (IgA) and systemic (IgG) immune responses. This oral route of administration induces intestinal immunity and prevents viral shedding, providing protection against wild-type poliovirus infection and contributing to herd immunity through vaccine virus transmission.
