Mechanism of action

Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that suppresses inflammatory and immune responses by binding to glucocorticoid receptors and inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokine production. The local anesthetic component (typically lidocaine or similar) blocks nerve conduction to provide localized pain relief. This combination is used for anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects at specific anatomical sites.
