Mechanism of action
AZD5213 works by inhibiting the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) in the kidneys, reducing glucose reabsorption and lowering blood glucose levels. This mechanism is thought to be beneficial for patients with type 2 diabetes.
