Mechanism of action
AVTX-002 works by inhibiting the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) in the kidneys, reducing glucose reabsorption and lowering blood glucose levels. This mechanism is similar to other SGLT2 inhibitors, which have been shown to improve glycemic control and reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with type 2 diabetes.
