Articaine / EPINEPHrine Cartridge
Articaine / EPINEPHrine Cartridge is a Local anesthetic with vasopressor Small molecule drug developed by Universidad de Antioquia. It is currently FDA-approved for Local and regional anesthesia for dental procedures, Infiltration anesthesia in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Articaine is a local anesthetic that blocks sodium channels in nerve membranes, while epinephrine is a vasoconstrictor that reduces blood flow to prolong anesthetic duration and reduce systemic toxicity.

Mechanism of action
Articaine works by reversibly inhibiting sodium influx through nerve cell membranes, preventing depolarization and action potential propagation. The addition of epinephrine causes vasoconstriction, which slows systemic absorption of the local anesthetic, extending its duration of action and reducing peak plasma concentrations and associated toxicity risks.
