Mechanism of action
Adapalene binds to retinoic acid receptors (RARs) in skin cells, promoting cell turnover and reducing comedone formation. It decreases sebum production and has anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective for treating acne by preventing the formation of microcomedones and reducing bacterial colonization.
