Mechanism of action

ACE inhibitors block the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. The diuretic component enhances sodium and water excretion, further lowering blood pressure. Together, these mechanisms reduce cardiac workload and improve blood pressure control in hypertensive patients.
