Mechanism of action

EliquisApixaban selectively inhibits Factor Xa, decreasing thrombin generation and thrombus development.
CoumadinInhibits vitamin K epoxide reductase, blocking the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors (II, VII, IX, X) to prevent thrombosis.
